- ἀντιάω, ἀντιόω (ἀντί), fut. ἀντιάσω (as if from ἀντιάζω), ἀντιόω, aor. ἀν- τιάσειας, etc., part. ἀντιάσᾶς, mid. ipf. ἀντιάασθε: meet, encounter, take part in, usually w. gen.; of persons, Il. 7.231, etc.; of things, μάχης, ἑκατόμβης, γάμου (mid., Il. 24.62), etc.; w. dat., Il. 6.127, Il. 21.431, Od. 18.147; w. acc. (limit of motion) only in ἐμὸν λέχος ἀντιόωσαν, ‘visiting,’ euphemistic of the captive who shares the couch of her lord, Il. 1.31.
